Natural Cleaning Pt.3

We've talked about making a vodka extract for cleaning, then how to use that extract in a disinfecting spray. Let's expand our knowledge of green cleaning even further and learn to make an all purpose spray. The best part about DIY cleaning products is you can use pretty much the same ingredients, just in different quantities to make different products and you're not having to keep 20 different ingredients around just for a few different product recipes.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- 3 cups warm water (too hot is not good for essential oils)
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 10 drops tea tree essential oil
- 10 drops sweet orange or lemon essential oil (or 1/4 cup vodka/vodka infusion) any of these will help cut grease, if you don't have any of these, use a few drops of dish soap
- Glass spray bottle
Mix warm water and white vinegar in glass spray bottle. Add your essential oils, vodka or soap. Shake to combine, I would shake before each use also.
This can be used all over your house from kitchens and bathrooms to wiping down dusty surfaces and spills. It is safe to use around your family, but I would be cautious with the essential oils around cats or other small animals, not that you can't use it around the house, just allow it to be completely wiped up and dry before you let your pet around that area. Here are some oils you can use!
Tea tree: disinfecting, antibacterial, anti-fungal (mold), antiviral and deodorizing
Sweet Orange: antibacterial and anti-fungal
Lemon: disinfecting, anti-fungal and antibacterial
Sage: antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiviral
Eucalyptus: anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, antiviral and disinfecting
Peppermint: anti-microbial, deodorizing, disinfecting and also repels bugs
Lime: disinfecting and antibacterial
Rosemary: antibacterial and anti-fungal
Thyme: anti-bacterial and antiviral
Lavender: antiviral, antibacterial and deodorizing
Pine: antibacterial, anti-fungal and deodorizing
Stay safe and healthy out there!
